Hello Dubai! A visit to ArabHealth 2023

The Abraham Accords opened the UAE to Israelis and here I am in Dubai for the ArabHealth 2023 convention. I'm not a big fan of trade shows but when the opportunity came up I just couldn't say no. Add to that the 10% discount on Emirates flights a week before and after the show and the connection flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka, one of my favorite surf destinations, and there you go, business and pleasure comes together. 

Business first, how can you make business in a trade show? 

1. Set up a booth, you may say? Well, for a small company like HRZ, when looking at the huge pavilions of GE and Siemens, I don't think so. Actually I tried this once at MEDICA and wasn't happy at all with the results.
2. Wonder around the show? Good luck to you! My feet are souring just thinking of the idea. These shows are so big that my smartwatch started alerting that I passed the daily recommended 40K steps (Not really, there's no such alert, but it actually recorded this number).
3. Schedule meetings in advance? That's the way to do it! Trade shows are great opportunity to catch up with customers and prospects. The only problem was that I kind of hopped into this show without prior planing after a friend tipped me about it. Well, next year.
4. Here's a secret, once you register, you get access to the list of all attendees! Now that's amazing! So here I am, in a small cafe overlooking Burj Khalifa (this tower is everything Dubai is), sitting in front of my laptop, searching the list for interesting people to connect with. You don't have to fly to Dubai in order to do this. Registration is free and you can do this from home.

Now to the fun part. If you're into shopping, for sure you're going to party in Dubai. I'm not a great shopper so for me this was an opportunity to swim in the Persian Golf. There was no wind but if you go down to Kite Beach you can rent kites, windsurfing gear and even eFoils. The beach is very pretty, sandy and clean and I had a great day there. Beware though, the Sun is brutal here.

And last, some updates about HRZ products. We've been working very hard on a new release of MODALIZER-SDK that should come out any day now with some important updates. Stay tuned. Following this, there's going to come a new MODALIZER+ release and then we're going into a new phase of R&D to come up with the next big thing ;-) I don't know what it will be but for sure it's going to be interesting. Stay tuned.
